A multi-level, multi-zoned modern garden design in Sundridge Kent

Pretty in Pink

Corten Steel and Black Slate

A plot on a Sundridge hillside with extended views across communal landscapes inspired this multi-level, multi-zoned modern garden. Corten steel walls and matching oversized troughs are contrasted with smooth black slate terraces ands steps. The hardscapes are softened with a primarily pink traditional planting palette including Roses, Hydrangeas and Jasmin brought up to date with intermixed ornamental grasses and herbaceous perennials. We created separate functional zones: one for play with a hidden trampoline; another for outdoor dining with friends; a cosy social space; a sunbathing terrace; and a quiet zone. A number of bespoke features include a logstore moongate borrowing the views beyond the garden, a porcelain ’tiled rug’, and Corten steel panels laser-cut to match the wallpaper pattern in the home’s living room.
