Small City Garden
Our green oasis in Blackheath
We have designed some interesting quirky angles and junctions into this two-level small city garden in Blackheath London. The material palette includes charred timber preserved using an ancient Japanese technique, called shou sugi ban. We have also used Corten steel for the steps, gate and pots. The swings are a real favourite and have been used daily by the client’s children since installation.
Our planting design uses lots of green foliage plants creating harmony and texture rather than a riot of colour. We’ve continued the Japanese influences with specimen Acers, surrounded by lush Tree Ferns and large Fatsias as well as perennials and ornamental grasses to add further interest and variety.
