How to Create an Enchanted Prairie Garden

Overall, this project has been an absolute pleasure to work on. We aimed for a naturalistic design that respects the surrounding landscape. This approach supports a calm, welcoming atmosphere for guests at Indigo Barn.

We planted around 1,600 plants and new trees to create a beautiful, naturalistic prairie garden around Indigo Barn, a gorgeous holiday rental nestled in the North Norfolk countryside. This makes the setting a natural highlight of the project.

Prairie garden design

Our aim was to create a relaxed, wild prairie garden that felt completely at home in this beautiful setting.

The planting is abundant and atmospheric. It brings colour, movement and wildlife to the garden while complementing the architecture of the barn.

Prairie garden enhancements

The prairie garden envelops the barrel sauna and cold shower, added as the perfect finishing touches, creating the ultimate place to unwind in a dreamy rural retreat.

The barn was recently featured in The Sunday Times as one of the UK’s best stays with a private sauna, and you can experience the garden for yourself by booking a stay with Norfolk Hideaways.

A huge thank you to our wonderful client for trusting us and our process, and to everyone who helped bring the garden to life:
